Welcome to Robbins Nest Nursery
Robbins Nest Nursery is a California state licensed in-home daycare (LIC #376100759). We were established in October 2019 and have safely remained open during the pandemic. We are conveniently located in Rancho Bernardo, one mile from the I-15 freeway. We are a unique daycare, only offering care to infants ages 4 weeks to 18 months. We do not enroll any child older than this because we feel it is important to maintain a calm and soothing environment ideal for developing young infants. We only offer full-time care with a very small caregiver to infant ratio ensuring each child’s needs are tended to right away. At Robbins Nest Nursery, we believe in holistic care that embraces a safe, natural, non-toxic environment. We encourage learning through play, arts and crafts, nature, music, and movement. We take inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach and Montessori philosophies and combine them with a natural, home-style childcare environment.
Robbins Nest Nursery offers a unique, infants only program. This program was created to focus on helping children mature and develop in a safe, yet stimulating environment. Your child will benefit socially, emotionally, and physically by growing and learning alongside peers of similar age. Our program engages in age appropriate arts & crafts, yoga, singing & dancing, reading, baby sign-language, age appropriate physical activity and going outside daily. We also engage in baby wearing and can instruct parents on correct use of carrier devices. We understand that each child is unique and is not required to adhere to strict schedules. At the time of enrollment, a care plan will be developed around your child and family's needs. This care plan will be updated to reflect the ongoing changes and development in your child. Our program also places high emphasis on healthy sleep and works alongside parents to ensure family sleep goals are achieved.
Enrolling only infants ages 4 weeks to 18 months of age allows us to maintain a calm, safe, and age-appropriate environment. Your child will learn and play alongside others their age without the disruption of older children. We maintain small provider to infant ratio to ensure each child is receiving quality care.
Your child will be in an environment similar to being at home at all times. We will share a living and playing space, a proper dining area, and each child will have their own designated pack-and-play and personal cubby for their time at Robbins Nest Nursery. Our Home environment is warm and welcoming and has an open layout allowing for constant supervision of children.
We are a full-time program offering care year round. We include most supplies in your tuition so you can spend less time worrying about replenishing items. Items included are The Honest Company diapers & wipes, whole organic meals and snacks (when age permits), and cows milk or dairy alternatives as needed. We ask you to be responsible for providing breast milk and/or formula.
See What They’re Saying
It’s always helpful to hear from other parents when choosing childcare. Check out some testimonials from other parents to get more familiar with the environment and programs Robbins Nest Nursery provides.
I couldn't imagine trusting anyone else with my child other than Keri. We began with Keri when my son was 3 months and her professionalism as well as her compassion made her an ideal caregiver for us. She was immensely supportive of me as a mother, providing coffee and the occasional baked good at drop off, returning my son home with the occasional craft and lots of daily pictures. I felt confident and comfortable every single day that my son was with Keri that he was in the best of hands and being taken care of physically, socially, and emotionally. Keri also practically sleep trained my son. Prior to going to Keri's, he would only nap while being held or worn. Within 2 weeks with Keri, he was comfortably sleeping on his own, and she showed amazing patience with him throughout the process. After a year and a half of caring for my son, I'm sad that I've moved out of state and can no longer use Keri for any future children I may have. You'll be glad that you chose Keri to take care of your child.

A safe haven for all
The mission of Robbins Nest Nursery is to create a safe haven for infants and their parent(s)/guardians(s) so returning to work can be a pleasant experience. We want parents to know their child is safe and being well-cared for during their time here. We utilize Brightwheel, a real-time notification app which alerts parents to their child’s activities (diaper changes, feeding, photos of activities, etc.) throughout the day. We want parents to have peace of mind knowing their child is receiving exceptional care from a qualified professional in a safe place. Our primary emphasis is to keep children safe and protected from harm while providing them with as much love and nurturing as possible in an inclusive environment. Our home and daycare welcomes all different types of family structures from all different backgrounds including LGBTQ+ families. Everyone is safe here.

Sean Villareal is my husband; we’ve been together for nine years, and were married on February 29, 2020. Sean is my business partner and our extra set of hands when needed. He has previous educational experience as a Living History presenter and completed numerous seasons at Riley’s Farm for their academic historical tours and educational programs for visiting elementary school groups. He is the caretaker and trainer of our feline companions, and completes after-hours maintenance and various tasks for the nursery on his off-time.
Seamus, Keanu & Batman
All house pets have been vaccinated and receive weekly grooming and nail trimmings.
We have three rescue kitties, Batman, Keanu, and Seamus, living in our home. Batman will be one year old in April 2022 and loves being around the babies. He is a great tool for teaching animal boundaries, while remaining completely docile. Keanu is 5 years old and his favorite activities are sleeping, playing with his mouse toy, meowing, and getting pets. Seamus (aka Kitten) is 13 years old and his favorite activities are sleeping, playing fetch, and cuddling. The cats have a separate area away from daycare children but may be present at times.
Safety is of upmost importance in this home and daycare. Robbins Nest Nursery provides children with a learning environment that’s safe, welcoming, and fun. We do regular equipment checks, utilize security cameras, and perform regular emergency drills. Home and daycare access is restricted, so only authorized individuals with identification may enter our secure doors. Our home is equipped with proper security locks on all doors and windows leading into the home. We take safety very seriously here and no one is allowed to enter the home without proper identification and prior authorization. Our home has been modified to ensure the safety of little ones on the move. Items used in our daycare meet ASTM and JPMA safety standards and are monitored for future recalls.
